I mean, let’s just be totally honest for a second here…
When it comes to getting healthier, we’ve probably ALL tried something lately: going paleo, keto, or strictly vegetarian, drinking only juice or eating only butter for weeks at a time. We’ll sign up for that 3 day cleanse, 28 day challenge, or commit to intermittent fasting, so determined – once and for all – to do this thing. To get healthy (yet, again).
And truthfully, a lot of these tactics can work……..sometimes for a day, a few days, or even a few weeks at a time, and we’ll think: YES! NAILED IT! Destination healthy, achieved.
But then reality hits. And it always does.
Between our daily work, family, friends, trying to take care of ourselves, plus all the normal life stuff, those rigid healthy rules end up being more than a little unrealistic to keep up over time, am I right?
Because life without those salty, crunchy chips and guac? Without hot cookies just pulled from the oven, the chilled glasses of rose on girls night, or the artisan and crusted loaf of sourdough bread with butter? It just ain’t worth living.
So, the real truth: getting healthy is easy. I think anyone can do it in a short term way.
But the bigger part that no one talks about but that matters most?
Learning how to stay there. As in, learning how to have a healthy lifestyle that actually lasts for your whole life. Without the ups and downs. Without the swinging from being GOOD to being BAD with your food. Without the guilt. Without the overwhelming & complicated trends. And without the noise, we all get bombarded with daily.
And after years and years of pushing and striving and depriving and going through so many ups and downs in my pursuit of a healthy life, I’ve learned a thing or two that could have saved me YEARS of frustration, time, effort and wasted money.
And I want to share them with you.
