So, yesterday as I was getting ready to power up and get ready for a major camp out sesh at my desk for the day (werk, werk, werk, werk), I did what I’ve been obsessed with this summer- starting it all out with a iced matcha almond milk latte.
If you follow me on Instagram or snapchat, you know this little routine of mine well. Errrrrr day.
And lately, because it’s been kinda crazy around here, it’s been with my new (clean) almond milk finds from Whole Foods (like this one) and my new favorite matcha brand (this one, by Matchaful).
(And, want the best news ever? I got the chance to meet their founder they have offered a special deal for all of us! 15% off with the code “simplyrealhealth” at checkout. The single travel packs are a perfect way to experiment and see if you like it first :))
It’s the best tasting, smoothest and sweetest kind I’ve had, all organic and so high quality and well sourced. You’ll see what I mean if you’ve tried others.
So anyways, yesterday.
Monday morning. When I pulled out an empty little carton from the fridge.
Booooooooooooo.
Now what?
No matcha?
Well, that’s not happening. There’s too much to do today without it.
Then I remembered my homemade hemp milk recipe.
But of course, I was outta hemp seeds too.
And almonds take too long to soak.
Solution: this.
Adding:
1/2 cup cashews
1 cup water
1 teaspoon honey
To a blender and blending on high for 2 minutes.
Hello, my love.
Homemade 2 minute cashew milk.
And a killer productive and happy morning to follow.
For an easy/lazy iced matcha:
Add:
1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder (start with 1/2 tsp if you’re new to it) ( I love the Matchaful emerald version, and since I know the owner you can save 15% off your order with the coupon code “simplyrealhealth” at checkout!)
1/4 to 1/2 cup of your cashew milk
1/4 cup water
and
lots of ice
Add all to a mason jar with a lid.
Shake shake shake it sister.
Optional to add a splash of honey or maple syrup if you need it.
Love this recipe? You’d love the cookbook then too. And be sure to check out the brand new Food Academy, now open for enrollment, and the seasonal meal plans!
