Is anyone else so THANKFUL for healthy food and snacks right now?
It’s such a blessing, amongst all that is going on. Like we’re really lucky than quarantine means good food, being in our cozy houses, and still be able to get some fresh air (away from the crowds of course).
So this week, my Thrive Market order came, I’m so glad. They’ve been having some slight delays with COVID (7-10 days), so I’ve been just waiting patiently by the door.
You guys already KNOW how I feel about keeping my pantry stocked — coronavirus or not. Being a new mama or not. Just being a busy person with a full life in general = pantry staples are LIFE (if you want to keep eating healthy no matter what).
But now that it’s less encouraged to go to the store, I’ve done even less food runs than normal (and by food runs, lets be real, I mean online grocery delivery through instacart or prime). But there is something really nice about getting all the heavy stuff, bulk stuff, canned stuff and all your basics dropped to your door, so those other orders can just be produce and meat and the fresh stuff.
So now more than ever, Thrive literally feels like a gift. They drop your organic, natural favs to your front door, often at a discount & with free shipping. It’s like Costco for all your favorite and all real-food approved brands.
YUP.
I feel like more than ever, with the stress and chaos in the world and uncertain days that lie ahead– we need to care for our bodies in the very best ways we can.
That means stocking up on REAL FOOD ingredients so you always have stuff on hand to feed your body well (no excuses, ya know?). (If you didn’t see it this week, I put together a full list of 23 meal ideas you can make with stuff from your pantry They are the simple combos I use alll the time over here, and seems so timely now. Grab it here)
Caring for yourself in this time also means:
Taking walks, breathing deeply, letting your face feel the sunshine when you can.
It means allowing yourself to slow down, allowing yourself to take the breaks you need and embrace the quiet a little more than you normally would.
It means moving your body everyday, stretching, and disconnecting from the craziness when you can.
Cooking is such a great way to get back to what matters, and lean in to the ancient and peaceful wisdom behind it. Especially now— what better way to use your time at home?! It’s the perfect time to play around, try some new things, or upgrade your old favorites.I’ve loooooved seeing everyone tag their SRH cookbooks and new recipe creations– it give me LIFE you guys. YES! The Simply Real Eating Cooking Club is on fire too, which is so fun.
Like what else are you gonna do at night anyways?
But truly– it doesn’t have to be elaborate or fancy or perfectly coordinated for it to be a worthwhile activity. As long as it’s real food, you are doing a great thing for yourself. And whoever else you are feeding.
So let’s talk snacks and staples (I mean, let’s keep talking about them). The ones you can order in and happily have on hand in your little social distancing cocoon. The little fun joys to add to meals, that pulls everything else together. I’m personally not a huge fan of snacking throughout the day, but using them for nice little toppings, additions and sides to your normal meals.
These are my favs that I order from Thrive (you can also find some on amazon and at your favorite store) and that will get you through without feeling like you need to make grocery runs so often. Win win, all the way around.

Thank you so much for these recommendations! I’ve wanted to subscribe to Thrive for a long time, and given our current circumstances I finally caved…and I’m so glad I did. I also feel overwhelmed by what to stock up on at this time, so I can’t express enough how grateful I am for your healthy recs. Thanks again. Xx
