So, it’s been a little crazy over here, but hey, so is normal life right?
Totes.
I define “crazy”, when even I “modify” (laz-ify) one of my recipes from the cookbook, that’s easy to begin with. A weird way to measure life, but it’s always true.
The shortcut to the shortcut. Sign this girl up.
Because busy times = when you need good (for you), great (tasting), food (nourishment) so you can kick ass at all the other important stuff.
Not the other way around.
Like most of us (me included) have tried to do, at many points in our life. I’m sure of it.
Because when I do and honor good food as just a given part of my life, everything else falls into place so much easier. Aka, I’m not a crazy, panicky, scary little lady that crumbles the second things don’t go according to plan.
Trust me. It’s worth the 5 minutes it might take to get or find something good (and quick) rather than something quick.
That second part is important. Even in phases of life when you don’t feel like you have the time to make elaborate or time intensive meals, or even to get creative with your food— it’s still good food, and still a time that you do take to eat.
We all have 5 minutes.
Fact.
Even if it’s grabbing something at Whole Foods. Or making the same salad every freakin’ night, because it’s easy and good and it just works (hello, me this week). Or stopping at smoothie bar or eating a whole avocado because that’s just what you have.
But I will tell you this– just because it’s good food, fast- doesn’t mean it can’t be fun and awesome and great tasting. Beautiful, even.
If you think the two are correlated still, they are not. Hang out around here s’more and you’ll see.
You can still amp the basics up in less than 5 minutes. All you need is an everything sauce.
Like this one.
To use as a salad dressing, a burger or salmon topping, a grilled veggie little bonus, or a great mix in to one of your make-ahead salads… All. And any.
