It’s probably a 0 % surprise to most of you that I’m a efficiency freak. (And that maybe I should add this to #7 of the 6 things I’m afraid to tell you, that I posted about on instagram/facebook yesterday).
Case in point: I’ll never take more than one trip from the car to the house (no matter how ridiculous I look), I refuse to cook meals with more than 5 ingredients and over 20 minutes during the week (aka, the cookbook was born), and while I know multi-tasking isn’t the best, I sure do try to sneak it in a lot.
In mini ways:
Wearing my superwoman/anti-wrinkle eye masks while dominating my inbox? YES.
Batching tasks and grouping similar appointments on the same day? YES.
Listening to podcasts or audible while doing more mindless tasks? ALLL THE TIME.
Literally. On my little daily walks, in the car, while I cook, fold laundry, clean, etc. Blame it on working my myself most of the day, or my incessant love of learning and growing and trying and testing stuff.
It’s why it was #4 was my admission list yesterday: my non-casual full blown podcast obsession. Also, how I legitimately think that they are my friends.
But seriously, it’s hard to argue: podcasts just take casual life tasks to a whole new level. Like, you might as well learn something extra while chopping those veggies and folding towels.
And, um. If you’re anything like me, I’ll take any distraction from life tasks. Secretly, they’re not my fav, and I’ll procrastinate on a lot of them (cough* laundry*) because they don’t feel efficient to me, or like I’m getting meaningful things done.
So, I have to bribe myself.
Podcasts and Audible.com to the RESCUE. And these days, there seem to be even more and more popping up, ranging like crazy in topic scope.
But, since you’re here and since I’m assuming you’re into being:
a) healthy
b) having well rounded lifestyle/being happy & fulfilled in all areas
c) being and learning and growing into the best version of yourself possible
or
c) starting or running a business of some kind
Or, some combination of the four (I mean, you are reading this blog).
And we all have times and moments when we need a little inspirational boost, or encouragement to keep learning and growing and testing and trying stuff for ourselves. Aka, not getting stuck in our heads, hearts and bodies, with all the ups and downs of life.
S0, here are some of my inspiring favorites, that no matter the season or the day, they always lift me up and make me feel like I can do anything, give me a fresh perspective, and help me remember that I have a say and so much power in how my life plays out.
There is just so much goodness out there, all you have to do is commit to seeing it, over and over again.
Because with that attitude, it always does. Happy listening my sweet friends.

Hi Sarah – I’d love to see a blog post on your favorite audiobooks and books too! I saw your recommendation for “The Universe Has Your Back” a few blog posts back, and this book helped me find positivity and strength during a difficult time. Thanks for shining your light and inspiring others to do the same!

Great post Sarah! Thanks for sharing 🙂 I’m interested in learning more about your sleep routine and recommendations for getting a good night’s sleep, how much sleep is enough etc.! I know that I (and many people) could benefit from better sleep habits, which feed into efficiency the next day.
