I’m a really bad secret keeper.
When I find good things, I have to tell everyone.
Especially in the realm of healthy {new} things out there.
Brands and products that just GET IT RIGHT are extremely rare my opinion. A real life princess and the pea situation going on here.
Everytime I go to the store, I try. I’ll buy at least 2 new products or things to test out, hoping + sending good vibes. Please taste good. Please be good.
It’s become a game. A side little hobby of mine to find new things that taste great AND have few ingredients AND are real-food based, AND make healthy eating more fun and exciting. And let me tell you. They are one in a million.
So, when I do, it’s a big deal.
So, today I bring you the first round of my favorite new finds from the last few months. And hopefully there will be enough things out there to do this every season. It makes me happy that they exist in the first place, because that means that there are more people looking for good, healthy options out there. So try them, love them, and tell me what you think!
[And no, none these are paid endorsements or anything like it– all the things below are products that I personally love and use. It’s how I roll and won’t write about anything I don’t believe in fully.]
[1. Simple & Crisp Crackers: Dehydrated fruit that makes beautiful, gluten-free + healthy entertaining easy and delicious. In orange, blood orange, pear and apple flavors. The fact that they are a local Seattle company is just an added bonus :)]
[2. Magic Kombucha: Made in Olympia, WA (another Seattle shout-out!), this is the best tasting kombucha I think I’ve ever had, and I’m pretty sure I’ve tried them all. A perfect one for beginner kombucha drinkers of all types, and what’s not to love about a company with the tag line “the champagne of kombucha”? You might as well hang a sign with my name on it over the front of the bottle. Love, love it. So far, I’ve only seen it at PCC here locally, but I’m sure they will be expanding fast!]
[3. Coconut Juice: It’s coconut water from young coconuts. Yes, it’s a tiny bit more expensive, but it tastes so much better than most other brands I’ve tried on the shelf {the CO2 brand is excellent as well}. All you need is a sip or two and it feels almost decadent, and a perfect addition to your green smoothie.]
[4. Queen Anne Olive Oil Company (or other local olive oil shops): This place has a full tasting bar of great olive oils and vinegars, infused with herbs, fruit essences and spice. Who needs a full dressing when you have a basil and spicy harissa infused olive oils to use on your salads or veggies? Worth a weekend trip and peak, and at $10/bottle it’s the same price you’d pay at any store.][Trader Joe’s Zesty Nacho Kale Chips: I almost didn’t believe my eyes. But, it’s true. This is– by far– the best thing to come out of Trader Joe’s. I’ve bought many other brands of pre-packaged kale chips at other stores and loved them, but at $9/bag they were a little spendy to justify. TJ’s comes in at $3.50/bag, taste delicious, travels well, and has a great texture that anyone would love– kale newbies + veterans alike. You might want to try and get some before I buy out their whole stock…]
