And the best areas of these fun cities to see, do and stay.
Without all the fuss, or pretention.
So for your next California weekend getaway, friends or a girls trip, my favorite little healthy Palm Springs gems to keep in mind:
Casual Restaurants:
El Mirasol (at Los Arboles): casual mexican spot, set up in a secret garden hedge with twinkly lights. The taco salad is to die for!
Appetito Deli: a great casual spot for lunch or a laid back dinner. Great food, and a fun fire-pit table, near the Ace Hotel.
Brunch:
Wilma + Fredas– a cute small brunch spot in Palm Desert overlooking the shops of Paseo Drive.
Cheeky’s– the famous, line-out-the-door at all hours of the day, with huge portions. If you love big brunches, this is your spot. The kale salad is always by go-to (shown above).
FARM– just as it sounds. Adorable farm to table brunch dining, with a menu inspired by the South of France.
Coffee spots:
Koffi– organic cold brew, kills it everytime.
Earnest Coffee– stumptown coffee, and great place to hang and relax on their outdoor patio.
Best drink spots:
Parker Palm Springs amazing architecture and design, with a great outdoor bar and patio and fun fancy drinks.
Ace Hotel Hipster bar, gone casual. A great laid back place to grab a drink and snack and take in the scenery (and beautiful people).
The State Bar at Ritz Carlton, Rancho Mirage (at sunset). Negroni’s on tap. That is all. (Firepit and view pictured above.)
SO.PA at L’Horizon Hotel. A cozy and secretive garden patio on the way into Palm Springs. You can’t help but pinky lift those fingers while sipping a cocktail here.
A little PS classic vintage:
Sherman’s Deli: huge salads, gluten-free bread available, gluten-free cookies + treats
Fun night out restaurants:
Birba: casual, fun ambiance for a group. Eat under the patio lights, great salads and gluten-free and cauliflower crust pizzas
Workshop Kitchen + Bar: fancier, high end james beard award winner. magical courtyard patio.
Resevoir at The Arrive Hotel– great salads, burgers, tacos, cocktail, hipster ambiance. What more could you want?
Dessert:
Ice Cream & Shoppe– a whimsical and fun boutique and ice cream shop, attached to the Arrive Hotel. Coconut milk flavors available too!
