Christmas & two little holiday weeks coming right up… ✨
Even if all is not calm and bright in your world, I hope you can find some space this week to just appreciate the small joys and glimpses of goodness.
A few of mine?
A home to stay warm in. Bundled up walks (even in the rain). Natural candles lit throughout the house every day by 4 pm. A healthy 2-year-old baby boy (…. or, not-so-baby boy). Good books that help me stretch and learn. A cozy kitchen to play and share love in, in the form of nourishing, vibrant meals and treats for the people I adore the most.
Notice it’s not the big holiday parties, or the number of gifts under a pine tree, or how fancy the decor and lights are. It’s just the beautiful and most simple of blessings.
What’s bringing you joy this season?
Another one on my list…. this merry, merry Blood Orange Spritzer– made easily into a cocktail or mocktail. It’s sparkly and festive and easy– aka, all the things we need this week, right??
Make this if you want something fun to cheers with your loved ones this week– whether it’s in person or virtual or in spirit. Cheers + happy holidays!
The Blood Orange Spritzer Mocktail:
serves 1 (cocktail version is below)
Ingredients:
1 blood orange, one peel sliced off first, then juiced (or 1/2 grapefruit + 1/2 orange juiced)
1/2 bottle of sparkling water (I used topo chico here)
2 oz ginger kombucha
1 sprig sage or rosemary
Directions:
Pour citrus juice through a strainer into a cup of ice. Add sparkling water and kombucha and stir with a spoon. Add the orange peel and sprig of sage on top.
The Blood Orange Spritzer Cocktail:
serves 1
Ingredients:
1 blood orange, one peel sliced off first, then juiced (or 1/2 grapefruit + 1/2 orange juiced)
1 oz aperol
1 1/2 oz tequila (my fav), or vodka or gin
1-2 oz sparkling water
1 sprig sage or rosemary
Directions:
Add all ingredients (except sparkling water) to a shaker with ice. Shake well and pour into your favorite glass, filled with ice. Top with sparkling water, and garnish with orange peel and sprig of sage.
