I don’t even know where to begin in describing the changes in my life that I have noticed since working with Sarah. The physical impacts have been remarkable, but for me, it is the emotional change that has been most important. Before working with Sarah, I was a “healthy” eater – I tried to avoid junk foods (not always successful), tried to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and tried to monitor my caloric intake, but I was also abusing foods in ways that I knew about (over-eating) and in ways that I didn’t (a victim of the many “health” foods on the market – full of artificial preservatives and other “unknowns”). I didn’t realize I was doing it mostly (or all) wrong. After four weeks of her coaching, I am down 10 lbs (!!), my body feels more energized and less fatigued than I can remember, but perhaps more importantly, I am happier and more inspired than ever to live a healthy, fullfilled life, as she encourages. I can now confidently say that I think of food and health in a totally different and much more balanced way. Sarah, I cannot thank you enough. This has been a life changing experience. For my birthday my sister bought me one month with Sarah. Not only was it the best birthday present, but it has changed my life!! I know that’s an extreme statement, but it couldn’t be more true. In 3 short weeks, I have lost 13 pounds, come to terms with the fact that I actually was an addict to unhealthy foods, that for years I have constantly ate without being hungry and that I’ve wasted almost half of my 20′s feeling terrible in so many ways. In such a short amount of time, with Sarah’s incredible help, I feel like a whole new person. I know that sounds crazy and like an exaggeration, but it’s not. Not only do I have so much more energy, less weight and way better sleep, but with Sarah’s great easy recipes [she has so much more than what’s just on her blog], I have discovered that I can cook, and can easily make delicious, healthy meals that I actually LOVE to eat! I have found a way to enjoy cooking on my 2 days off [I’m a flight attendant and always on the go], and all week find myself excited to eat my next meal. I now also love going out to eat and actually knowing what to order! I feel so much more mindful and present in terms of how my eating choices affect the rest of my life. The most amazing part of working with Sarah is the education I have learned about food, and discovering what my body needs and how certain foods make me feel. I knew working with Sarah was going to be great, but I had no idea how hard and eye opening it was going to be! See, I’ve been getting her meal plans for quite a while now and am no stranger to healthy eating. I thought, “hey – why not get the coaching so she can tell me exactly what to eat, how much, when, etc”. But, what I got was the exact opposite! In a good way. Sarah challenged me to not have an exact plan. To approach food and eating with more ease and whimsy and less structure. And, this scared the heck out of me. I like plans, I like structure. I like everything tied up in neat little packages with coordinating bows. But let me tell you – this changed me – she was right. For the first time in my life I’m not “on” anything, or “off” anything. I’m not feeling the guilt of eating something I shouldn’t, or constantly saying “I’ll start tomorrow”. This IS my tomorrow – this is my life. This is the way I get to eat for the rest of my life. And it includes treats and wine and all the less-than-healthy things I love, but also all the wonderfully healthy things I’ve come to love too. For the first time the other day I made a green smoothie – and drank it – and it was good! I mean, really, things have changed for me. And I can’t say that I’m there yet, or that I have it all figured out, but Sarah has helped me to see things – to see myself really, and trust myself in a whole new way, and truly, that’s priceless in my book. A few weeks ago, I went on a shopping trip with Sarah, and let me tell you, it was such a fun and informative day for me. I thought that I was eating pretty healthy, but as we started reading ingredient labels, I realized that some of the foods I was previously buying on a regular basis, were not even close to healthy choices! We covered every aisle of the store talking about nutrition and finding healthier options. With so much information and marketing out there about what you should be eating and the constant studies saying ‘never-mind don’t eat that, eat this instead!’, it is hard to know what to put in your cart. I love Sarah’s simple approach as well as her excitement about health, and am happy to say I finally feel confident about the foods I am choosing! And, I am loving her green smoothie. So awesome to realize how many nutrients you have had all before 9am!

I have really enjoyed working with Sarah over the past few months. She has always made me feel comfortable and has always been so easy to talk to, which is important when you’re ready to make a change. She’s so knowledgeable about food and had lots of useful info and tips to share. I chose to do a customized program and found it to be such a helpful thing– with enough guidelines and rules to keep me on track, without the rigidity of a set program or diet. I liked that there were options, and that it was really more about a general understanding, and more long term changes I could make (which was my goal in the first place). It also helped take a lot of the confusion I had about different foods and helped me move to a more simplified way of thinking about fueling my body. I’ve tried lots of her recipes and they really are easy and delicious. Because of it, I’ve very much enjoyed cooking more of my own food and feeling more in control of my body. My goals for working with Sarah were simple. I needed to find a way in my busy life to eat well and finally lose the weight I had put on since college– I was nearing the doctor’s definition of obese at 180 and 5’5”, and felt like a prisoner in my own skin. After two weeks with Sarah, I noticed an immediate change. I had energy for everything! I didn’t need a big snack in the morning and afternoon to feel ready for my workouts. I stopped drinking coffee and started sleeping 8 hours at night. My energy and appetite were completely different. CHANGED, for the better. I had energy to go, go, go, and the amount of food I was eating was getting smaller and smaller but better of better quality and content, helping me think less about food over time, rather than become obsessive with it, like other methods I had tried in the past. Sarah has changed my life. If someone would of told me six months ago that I would be gluten, dairy, sugar, and caffeine free and loving it, I would have told them they were crazy! I’ve been working with Sarah for a full year now. All the positive changes that have happened in the last 12 months are something I would have never believed if someone told me from the beginning. Yes, I’ve lost the weight I needed to [35 lbs]. Yes, I’m sleeping better, don’t have afternoon energy crashes and get to eat great tasting food– that I make myself now, or know exactly how to order when I’m out without being high maintenence. More importantly though, is the long term-ness of all of these changes. Going through the last year with meetings every single month helped me figure out exactly how to live in all the real life situations that come up during that time– vacations and trips, social events and outings, holidays, etc. I never felt like I was on a diet, and have a much better sense as to how everything relates to each other, and how what I’m eating relates to everything else in my life.
