A few of things (ok, fine all the things) I am loving this Spring, that are helping to keep me healthy, inspired and on top of my game this season. And full of joy. Because, one without the other is just no way to live.
In the categories of ADORN, TO MAKE LIFE BETTER & HEALTHIER, TO EAT, TO READ & INSPIRE and TO LISTEN & INSPIRE. Per request, rounded up in one spot, so you don’t have to keep chasing down my instagram stories.
TO ADORN:
While I feel a little ridiculous posting what I’m wearing (I am nothing close to a trendy fashion blogger- I crave soft things and comfort more than anything else), the truth is that I do love creating and crafting how I A D O R N myself.
That’s how I think about it– how do I want these clothes to make me feel? Texture wise, but also how I show up in my own skin and presence each day. Much like food, workouts, and the people I surround myself with, a little intention and a lot of joy go a long way.
And lately, I’m so into the train of buying fewer things, but good quality pieces each season that I wear for everything. So, if it interests you, I’ll be sprinkling them in from time to time. And if it doesn’t, well, just skip down to the other sections. You do you, my friend.
Overalls: you guys already know how much of a fan I am on one-piece outfits (dresses, jumpsuits, and now overalls). Pull them on and you’re done, without trying too hard. My favs right now:
these cutie and classic levis and these black topshop overalls
HATS & HAIR:
As I get older, I have no shame in my dorky hat game. I bring them on every sunny trip, and now that the weather is nice, I wear them on my daily walks too. I can still be outside, without baking my face in the sun- the best of both worlds. Here are my all time favs right now:
this roll up straw hat (with pony room), is so great for packing on trips, but also so cute with a little hair scarf & bun, or top knot peeking through (aka, daily life).
I also love this one, with a slightly bigger brim for sitting in the sun
Silk hair scarfs: So into this trend right now– how can you not be? My childhood ballerina dreams are coming true, and they can immediately dress up any jean & t-shirt combo. I’m loving these solid longer ones from Free People , because they go with anything.
And, although I’m not quite convinced on the scrunchie train being back just yet, when it’s silk and has polka dots, and means a messy bun can be cute, I’m all in. I can’t stop wearing this one with everything.
Ok, is is too early to call my favorite Target find of the summer? These pink bow summer slides are perfect for around the house, or any casual little adventure. I’m obsessed with my birkenstocks for the same reason, and these are just too cute.
I love a good two piece set. Wear them together or seperate for 3 outfits in one. That’s what I call efficient. Free People does it again for this perfect spring and summer go-to.
Or, my favs, jumpsuits for all this time of year.
this candy tie jumpsuit
the tootsie stripe jumpsuit (or in solid black too)
the tie back jumpsuit (stop it, right?)
the elsie cinched jumpsuit: aka, like wearing pajamas in public.Yes, please.
Leggings & workout gear: aka, my Steve Jobs daily wear. These white leggings are so cute for spring, but also keep reaching for these entertwined black ones in my closet because they’re so comfortable (and also, fun). Runners-up: these and these.
SUNNIES FOR ALL: for walks, for talks, and soaking up the sun, while protecting those peeps and giving you some shade.
TO MAKE LIFE BETTER & HEALTHIER:
This giant BPA -free waterbottle with a straw for iced bevvies. Because everyone knows you drink more and faster with a straw, so use it for something good. Currently obsessed with mine as the weather heats up– it keeps it ice cold and refreshing, and the outside doesn’t sweat.
This rose quartz face roller: ok, I have to admit. I haven’t been using this long enough to know if it actually works for smoothing wrinkles, facial lines, and lymphatic drainage, but I can tell you that it FEELS so good on my face.
I’ve been keeping it in the fridge, and rolling it over my face in the morning, sometimes bare skinned, and sometimes with my fav natural hylauronic face serum. It’s cooling, soothing, and kind of feels like someone is giving you a facial. For $20, that’s enough for me for love it.
This rose face spray. Every single morning and every single night, I spray this all over my face and neck, and it just might be the highlight of my day. So refreshing, so hydrating, and so calming all at once. Yes please.
This meditation pillow has been just making my mornings. I used to sit on the floor while I’d do my 5 min journaling, manifesting lists or a little medi to set the tone of the day, and with this, I’m so comfortable and happy, I just want to stay a little longer. There’s something nice and so official about getting my little area set up in the morning. Plus, it doubles for fun seating with our little nieces and nephews come over.
The best natural face sunscreen, for all your spring adventures. Chemie-free, of course, and it works, without smelling weird or going on like a thick white paste. I like to stock up when they’re on sale.
Got some veggie or herb garden dreams this summer? This perfect little planter box makes it so easy to get yours set up in one afternoon.
Need a little boost to your office, outdoor patio or a little extra life in your living room? This cutie planter can’t not make you smile. Plus, did you know having live plants around you helps naturally purify the air? Bring that outside freshness in!
TO EAT:
GT’s living coconut yogurt: from the makers of the most famous kombucha, comes a unsweetened, dairy-free yogurt with added probiotics (and no weird added chemies or sugars). I love this with fresh blueberries and some of my fav grain-free granola. I have found mine both at Whole Foods, or PCC if you live in Seattle.
Bar-nana Coconut Bites: the perfect little sweet bite, made with just bananas and coconut. I love one of these after dinner or lunch as a little dessert.
Can’t stop sipping: my 2 minute cashew milk (and the iced matcha latte). Did you know making your own nut milk was so easy?!
TO READ & INSPIRE:
Open Wide, by Melissa Ambrosini. Such a great book on relationships of all kinds, and living a happier life.
Tribe of Mentors, Tim Ferriss. This book has been so much fun to read in small chunks, whenever I need a little inspo. It’s filled with interviews of the most successful people in the world, digging into their habits, routines, biggest lessons learned, etc. I love reading a page or two before or after, or in place of a morning medi.
The Artist’s Way, Julia Cameron. If you are a artist, creative, or writer of any kind, this book is one of the best I’ve read this year. About how to get un-stuck, stop procrastinating, and get real work done!
TO LISTEN & INSPIRE:
The Goop Podcast: new on the podcast scene, their first interview between Oprah and Gwenthy was all I needed to be hooked. Their variety of topics is so fun, and always on trend with what’s happening in the world.
The Mind Your Business Podcast: I’ve been obsessed with this refreshing blend of business & mindset talk- because one without the other just won’t get you very far. So great for anyone who owns a business or has a creative path they want to pursue.
See all of my other favorite podcasts here, in this blog post.
Insight Timer Meditation App: This app is so well organized, and always keeps things fresh. You can sort by the amount of time you have, with spoken words, or just music, and by other people’s ratings. I love mixing things up in my morning routine with this one!
